"Houhin" is a handleless teapot suitable for gyokuro and high-quality green tea served at lower temperatures. Crafted by Shinji Terauchi, this teapot is made using only Izumiyama porcelain stone. He is dedicated to honing his skills, aiming to develop his distinct technique and produce extraordinary pieces capable of evoking deep emotions in people. This iconic sometsuke style of painting is a classic favorite and is deeply rooted in the tradition of Arita-ware.

[Arita ware]
Generic name of porcelain made mainly in Arita, Saga Prefecture. Arita is the first porcelain-producing area in Japan. It is also called “Imari ware” as it was shipped from Imari port during the early days.

[Sometsuke]
Decorating on biscuit under transparent glaze with a blue pigment. This pigment is known as zaffer or “gosu” in Japanese. It was first used in China in the 14th century and then spread around the world. In Japan, it was first introduced in Arita at the beginning of 17th century.

Care Instructions

- Wash before first use with water or warm water.
- Do not use in dishwasher or microwave.
- Do not use in oven or on open fire.
- Clean the product with non-abrasive, soft scouring pad.
- For your own safety, do not use any item that is chipped or cracked.

What are the shipping charges?

1. Local Shipping (Standard)

The shipping fee is SGD10.00 (up to 2kgs) and free shipping for purchase over SGD300 & above.
Please note that this applies to local shipping only.

2. Local Shipping (Express)

The shipping fee is SGD25.00 (up to 20kgs). For purchase over SGD300 & above, you may enjoy a special rate of SGD15.00 for express shipping.

When can I receive my order?

1. Local Shipping (Standard)

Upon receiving your order, please allow us 1-3 business days to prepare the shipment. Your order should arrive within 3-5 business days.

2. Local Shipping (Express)

To secure delivery on next day, please place your order before 2pm and choose express shipping. For orders made by 4pm between Monday to Friday, we will schedule delivery on the next day. For orders made on Sundays and Public Holidays, the earliest delivery will be on the following business day.

Yes, you may opt for self-collection for your ordered items at Duxton Hill gallery.

Upon your arrival at the gallery, kindly provide your name and order number for verification purposes.
