Collection: Yu Nishioka

Born in Chiba Prefecture, ceramic artist Yu Nishioka specializes in making various types of Mino ware such as Kiseto, Oribe, Seto-guro, and Shino. Nishioka is committed to finding suitable clay for his work and shovels soil from various sites. He is fascinated by Kiseto and aspires to achieve the “aburage-de” technique in which the texture resembles deep-fried tofu with a non-glossy and non-transparent appearance.
