This mug is made of traditional clay and influenced by the notable features of Tokoname ware. It is coated with “Chara” – a traditional coating substance with properties between white slip and normal glaze to attain smooth and matte texture. Each mug has a distinctive expression of the fine mottled pattern which is achieved by sprinkling powder of oyster shells on the vessel before firing. No two pieces are alike. It is a modest mug that adds warmth and texture to your everyday life.
